Terms of Service Agreement

Indiana Waste Service

By submitting payment, you (“the Customer”) agree to the following terms and conditions. This agreement is effective for the period of service paid for. Service canceled during a paid service period is not refundable.

1. Payment Terms

• Payment is due prior to the start of each invoiced service period.
• If payment is not received by the due date:
  • Service will be suspended.
  • A $10.00 late fee will be applied.
• Late payments must be received at least 2 days before your scheduled pickup day.
• Once payment is received and processed, service will resume on your next scheduled pickup day.
• No credits or refunds will be issued for missed pickups due to late payment.

2. Weekly Garbage Limit

Each weekly pickup includes:

• The provided Indiana Waste Service trash cart(s)
• Up to two (2) additional customer-owned trash cans or two (2) trash bags
• One (1) large bulk item (see acceptable items below)

Any trash exceeding these limits will be left behind. You may:

• Contact our office to schedule a special pickup (additional charges apply), or
• Hold extra items until your next scheduled pickup.

Bulk Item Guidelines

• Bulk items must be placed at the curb.
• Remove exposed nails, sharp edges, and glass.
• Items must be safely liftable by one person. Unsafe or excessively heavy items will not be collected.
• Wood, branches, and carpet must be:
• Cut to 4 feet or less
• Bundled with tape or rope
• Limited to no more than four (4) bundles

3. Trash Carts and Containers

• All trash and recycling carts provided remain the property of Indiana Waste Service.
• The customer is responsible for the Indiana Waste Service cart.
• The customer is responsible for carts that are lost, stolen, damaged, or burned.
• Do not paint, deface, or alter carts in any way.
• Indiana Waste Service is not responsible for cart cleanliness.
• Replacement costs will be charged for lost or damaged carts.

Customer-Owned Containers

• Customers may use their own containers.
• Indiana Waste Service is not responsible for lost or damaged customer-owned containers.
• Containers must be:
  • Heavy-duty
  • In good condition
  • Compatible with automated truck lifting equipment

Customers are not liable for damage caused by the truck during normal cart emptying.

4. Acceptable & Unacceptable Items

Acceptable Bulk Items

• Appliances: stoves, washers, dryers, hot water heaters
• Furniture: mattresses, box springs, sofas, chairs
• Tree trimmings and branches:
• • Maximum 2 inches in diameter
  • Less than 4 feet long
• Carpet:
  • Rolled and cut to 4 feet
  • Bundled with tape or rope
  • Maximum four (4) bundles

Refrigerated Appliances

(Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers)

• EPA regulations require Freon to be professionally removed.
• A certification sticker must be attached, or
• Contact our office to schedule a special pickup (additional fees apply).

Unacceptable Materials

(Restricted by state, local, or federal law)

• Hazardous materials (paint, pesticides, solvents, motor oil)
• Batteries or devices containing batteries. (Batteries are a high risk of fire.)
• Concrete, bricks, stones, dirt (more than ¼ cart)
• Leaves
• Electronics (computers, TVs, small appliances)
• Heavy steel, metal, or iron
• Fluorescent bulbs or tubes
• Gasoline, gas tanks, or gas cans
• Tires
• Liquid waste of any kind
• Needles, syringes, medical or biohazardous waste
• Human waste

Indiana Waste Service employees are instructed not to collect prohibited or unsafe items. If you have questions or believe an item was missed in error, please contact our office.

5.Schedule of Service

• Trash and recycling must be placed at the curb the night before or by 5:00 a.m. on your pickup day.
• If the truck passes and materials are not out, we cannot return.
• Pickup times may change weekly without notice.

6.Weather or Disaster Delays

• Service will continue as scheduled unless conditions are unsafe.
• If delayed:
  • Customers will be notified by email and or phone call.
  • Pickup will occur one day later.
• If unsafe conditions last more than one day:
  • Service resumes the following week.
  • Both weeks' trash and recycling will be collected
  • Weekly limits will be temporarily suspended

7. Holiday Schedule

During holiday weeks, service may occur earlier than usual. Please place trash out the night before.

• Memorial Day - No Monday pickup; rest of week delayed one day
• Independence Day (July 4th) - Pickup delayed one day if on or after holiday
• Labor Day - No Monday pickup; rest of week delayed one day
• Thanksgiving - Pickup delayed one day if on or after holiday
• Christmas Day - Pickup delayed one day if on or after holiday
• New Year's Day - Pickup delayed one day if on or after holiday
